DAEWOO TAKES TO THE SKY WITH THE REDBULL-DOZER

CPS put forward a team and flight plan to the RED BULL flugtag challenge and got accepted as one of the 40 teams out of over 8000 entries. Many evenings and weekends were spent designing and building our flying machine aptly called REDBULL -DOZER and loosely based on the Daewoo Skidsteer Loader. Ready for launch day: August 2003 location: Serpentine Lake Hyde Park London.

Over 150,000 turned out on the day to witness this flying spectacular. One by one the team took the plunge to the skies off the 6m high launch platform. Flight was proving difficult for most although the entertainment value from the various pre launch shows followed by the enevitable crash land into the serpentine. We were 26th to fly so had a chance to see some of the pitfalls whilst roasting in the summer heat. We were one of only three teams that had flight and not just plunging. Overall we came 10th.

Two articles have been written featuring the REDBULL-DOZER in flight:
